Five Areas of Child Development
Child development is a process every child goes through. It refers to the succession of Social and Emotional, Language, Cognitive and Physical changes that occur in a child from birth to school age. During this process children progresses are increasing from dependency to independence. During this workshop participants will develop more knowledge about child development and why is it important, will discuss five areas of development S.P.I.C.E. through small group activities, how to identify developmental milestones, and how to use this information in their daily program planning. Through group activities and discussions participants will learn more about Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP) and how to create a plan for children who need extra supports.
